A healthy lifestyle is a set of daily behaviors or attitudes that people carry out to maintain their body and mind in an appropriate way.
Leading a healthy life is important because it can prevent diseases, improve quality of life, strengthen the immune system, control weight, increase life expectancy, improve cognitive function, reduce the risk of chronic diseases, improve interpersonal relationships, increase self-esteem and many more things.
Here are some of the tips for a healthy lifestyle:
- Base your diet on foods of plant origin, such as fruits, vegetables, cereals, tubers, legumes, mushrooms and other vegetables that are part of the Mediterranean diet.
- Stay hydrated by drinking enough water throughout the day. A healthy adult with light physical activity does not need to drink water without being thirsty, but children and older people should pay special attention to this point.
- Exercise 30 to 60 minutes daily with moderate physical activity. Regular physical activity reduces the risk of chronic diseases and is associated with greater overall well-being.

- Sleep 8 hours a day. Adequate rest is essential for health. Little or bad sleep affects the immune and cognitive system. To enjoy a good rest, try to go to bed at the same time every day and in a quiet, undisturbed environment.
- Avoid tobacco and alcohol. The toxins present in tobacco, alcohol and the atmosphere of some cities are one of the enemies of public health.
